Apple’s touchscreen MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR is available now
14- and 16-inch M5 Pro and Max models started arriving Nov. 6. Store pickup is often faster than apple.com delivery.
Apple’s first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen — the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display — began arriving to customers and Apple Stores on Friday (Nov. 6), nine days after the company opened pre-orders.
Tim Cook posted on X Friday afternoon that the all-new MacBook Pro and several other devices announced with it “are available now.”

The PROLED models are the redesigned 14- and 16-inch machines with Apple’s tandem OLED panel, built-in Touch, Dynamic Island, and a glowing Apple logo on the lid. They run M5 Pro or M5 Max — not the M6 chip that powers the cheaper, non-PROLED 14-inch MacBook Pro that also went on sale the same day.
U.S. pricing matches Apple’s Oct. 28 announcement. The 14-inch with M5 Pro starts at $2,899; the 16-inch with M5 Pro starts at $3,399. M5 Max configurations start at $4,499 (14-inch) and $4,799 (16-inch). Education pricing shaves $150–$300 off those floors. Both sizes ship in Space Black and Silver, with a nano-texture glass option for an extra $150.

Apple says PROLED XDR uses tandem OLED layers for up to 2000 nits peak HDR and SDR brightness, a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, ProMotion refresh from 10Hz to 120Hz, and a color gamut that covers both P3 and Adobe RGB. The touch sensor sits in the panel rather than as a separate overlay. Johny Srouji, Apple’s chief hardware officer, called PROLED XDR “the world’s best laptop display” in the company’s newsroom post.
The redesign also trims weight: Apple lists the 14-inch at about 3 pounds (down half a pound) and the 16-inch at about 4 pounds (down 0.7 pounds). Specs include up to 128GB of unified memory, up to 16TB of storage, three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC slot, MagSafe, and a six-speaker system Apple says delivers 50 percent deeper bass. Machines ship with macOS 27.

Buying today is a bit of a split screen. MacRumors confirmed customer arrivals on launch day. Stock trackers and Apple Store pickup checks compiled by Manzana Tracker show many U.S. stores with ready inventory over the weekend, while apple.com delivery for new orders is often slipping into late November or early December — a pattern also noted by TheMacPost. For shoppers who want a machine this weekend, checking store pickup tends to beat waiting on mail delivery.
Apple, Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H all listed the PROLED line at launch. Best Buy ran a $100 e-gift card offer on pre-orders, according to MacRumors. The same Friday also brought the OLED iPad mini 8, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6, and the M6 iMac — related hardware, but separate from the PROLED Pro story.
For pros who have been waiting on a touchscreen Mac with a reference-class OLED panel, the machines are no longer vapor: they are on shelves, shipping from resellers, and configurable on apple.com, with the main variable now being how long delivery takes for the exact build you pick.
